In just a few years, Highfield Boats, the world leader in semi-rigid boats with aluminium hulls, and Honda Marine, the Japanese engine manufacturer, subsidiary of the 6th largest automobile manufacturer in the world, have established themselves in the world of ocean racing, supplying race organisers (but also Sports Teams) with boat-motor combos (associations) with legendary reliability and top-level marine qualities, capable of adapting to a very wide range of use.
These rigid-inflatable boats must in fact secure sailracers on water, act as push tugs and follow the race starts in sometimes difficult conditions, encouraging the organisers to opt for what is being done in the field.
In the case of the 2020 Vendée Globe, which will start in Les Sables d'Olonne (Vendée - France) in November 8th, no less than 48 Ribs will make up this fleet, a fleet that at the end of the race will be sold in a special series in the Highfield-Honda dealer network, thereby strengthening de facto Honda's market share !
This fleet will be composed of Highfield 6.60 and Highfield 7.60, whose design has been specifically developed for the race.
All these boats with a well-soaked pedigree, are already on sale at very privileged conditions, for delivery to their future owners from March 2021.
These 2020 Vendée Globe RIBs are offered with Sunway trailers and Lowrance and Proxam Mc-Technologies equipment.
