Boating – With the Cap Camarat 5.5 BR, Jeanneau Reinvents the Concept of Bow-Riders!

The Cap Camarat 5.5 BR is, for Jeanneau, the second model alongside the 6.5 BR of the bow-rider variant called Cap Camarat. Two models that greatly renew the genre, on the market of bow-riders, and whose initial launch was to meet the demand in Scandinavia, met by its local distributor, the Japanese engine manufacturer Yamaha!

Like the other versions of the Cap Camarat (WA and DC), the hull of the 5.5 BR is unchanged compared to the other open-hull models, and only the deck plan differs.

The Cap Camarat 5.5 BR focuses on a diverse program that combines water sports, walks, picnics, and fishing. It differs from the American and Nordic offer with a less sophisticated and more practical deck plan, as well as its self-steering cockpit, wide passages and ease of maintenance.

Its deck plan is much more protective with a circulation between the front and the back of the boat by the centre, without a catwalk. The windscreen extends far to the rear, on the sides of the cockpit, and its traffic surfaces are non-slip. This displayed safety makes it an ideal model for a family audience.

It obviously has a bow-rider at the front composed of a U-shaped bench. Unlike the open version, the cockpit is not central but located to starboard. The dashboard receives a 7-inch Lowrance multifunction display.

At the back and over the full width of the cockpit is a fixed bench that can be unfolded to obtain a sunbath of almost 2 meters long. It is also possible to deploy a table and, by pivoting the seats at the front, to form a small deck lounge.

The 5.5 BR at sea is quite remarkable: it does not pitch nose-up, turns short, without too much heel, and has a very good grip; Moreover, it does not slam the water and passes well in the wave by small chop.

The Cap Camarat 5.5 BR can reach a maximum speed of 31.5 knots, with an average fuel consumption of 20.6 liters per hour at a cruising speed of 23.8 knots.
