Lagoon Catamarans presented its brand new Lagoon 60 at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2023 yesterday.

This yacht, the largest Lagoon outside the large yacht class, has a whole range of interesting features. Aft beach club, forward cockpit and flybridge galley are all there for the taking.

By unveiling the Lagoon 60, Bénéteau is unveiling the new generation of these catamarans, of which more than 7,000 have been launched.

With the increasing size of boats, the 60 is a large catamaran, a yacht that crowns the range, just below the large units. This Lagoon 60 prefigures features and solutions that are likely to appear on other boats in the range.

The aft access has been completely redesigned, with three steps fitted at an angle to enlarge the aft platforms. The bulwarks of the aft peak can be lowered to form a sort of beach club, extended by the tenderlift.

The whole layout is very open at the stern, in line with the programme for these boats, which is geared more towards lounging than crossing.

At the bow, a decked forward cockpit makes its appearance. Fitted with a deck saloon with optional table and sunbathing area, the forward cockpits allow breakfast to be enjoyed in full sunshine, while providing a new communal space. The cockpit is accessed through a door in the nacelle.

In the nacelle, the layout has also changed, with the galley positioned below. This is because these large catamarans are often operated by crews, and in this configuration, the galley below makes way for the nacelle, which then houses a very large saloon with its corner sofa, as well as a dining area.

The forward cockpit, nacelle and aft cockpit are all on the same level.

The flybridge is in XXL mode, with the helm station more or less in the middle, a very large sundeck forward and the saloon terrace and outdoor kitchen aft.

The rigid bimini shades the helm station and saloon and is fitted with photovoltaic panels.

The boat is available with four or five cabins and their en-suite shower rooms, depending on whether the galley is up or down.
