At the 2025 Cannes Yachting Festival (9–14 September), Greenline Yachts unveiled its new 42-foot model, named Greenline 42. Construction is already underway at the manufacturer's Slovenian premises. Delivery is scheduled for early 2026, with the ambition of setting new standards for the brand among discerning boaters.
Greenline Yachts, a renowned Slovenian manufacturer, has established itself in recent years as a leader in hybrid motor yachts. A pioneer in incorporating responsible technologies, particularly solar energy and hybrid engines, Greenline has already produced several successful models in its ‘Responsible Yachting’ range.
With series such as the Greenline 39, 45, 48 and 58, the shipyard has successfully combined comfort, energy autonomy and elegant lines. Regular partnerships with prestigious designers such as Marco Casali have helped the brand maintain a strong visual signature.
Optimised performance and efficiency
The Greenline 42 features a redesigned hull, developed by naval architecture firm Micad with the aim of reducing drag, optimising hydrodynamics and increasing maximum speed to 30 knots, while retaining two 250 hp engines. The propulsion system is Greenline's H-Drive 6G, which manages electrical requirements, battery charges and fuel consumption, while enabling silent manoeuvring in electric mode.
In terms of renewable energy, the new 42 is equipped with ten solar panels on the roof deck (cockpit roof). Their combined power reaches 4.1 kW, enough to power all on-board services (‘hotel appliances’) and contribute to rapid battery recharging.
Outdoor spaces and customisation options
Greenline offers unprecedented flexibility in the exterior layout of this 42-foot model. The aft cockpit can be configured in two different ways: removable furniture, folding swim platform, or retractable transom for easy access to the sea. At the bow, the deck opens onto a new bow lounge located above the anchorage, in the spirit of the relaxation areas already featured on the Greenline 58.
The interior, designed by Marco Casali, offers three styles: natural tones, renewable materials, and a choice between ‘honey teak’ or ‘modern oak’. The interior layout allows for different configurations: the option of a second guest toilet or a dressing room/dressing table for the owner's cabin. A climate control system (heating/air conditioning) directly at the helm is also making its debut on Greenline.
The brand's most customisable model
With the Greenline 42, the Slovenian brand is focusing on customisation: the number of cabins, storage space, toilets, electrical appliance options, furniture and finishes can all be adjusted to suit the buyer's wishes. Greenline presents it as ‘its most customisable model ever created’. This degree of customisation allows owners to design their yacht according to their use, whether it be coastal cruising, long-distance sailing or weekend getaways.
The Greenline 42 is part of Greenline's Responsible Yachting policy. The emphasis is on energy savings, the judicious use of solar panels, hybrid propulsion, but also on environmentally friendly construction practices: waste reduction, improved component durability, and the choice of renewable or sustainable materials. The shipyard aims to offer not only nautical performance, but also a reduced environmental impact.
The aesthetics of the Greenline 42 combine modernity with respect for the brand's codes. The exterior design incorporates some features from previous models such as the Greenline 58, while introducing more contemporary elements: large windows, understated finishes, a distinctive roof line, and fluidity between interior and exterior (notably through large galley-cockpit openings).
The onboard experience is designed to be bright and welcoming, with particular attention paid to ventilation, views and the visual connection between the living spaces and the sea.
