Despite the cancellation of the Cannes Yachting Festival, the ceremony, supported by unconditional sponsors such as Awlgrip AGL Marine, Opacmare, Nissan, the City of Cannes and Intercontinntal, brought together the finest professionals from the world of yachting and mega yachting for an exceptional evening highlighting the most beautiful yachts of the year.
In front of nearly 200 hand-picked guests, the various Trophies were awarded throughout the evening, with a special mention for the Polish shipyard Sunreef Yachts, created by the Frenchman Francis Lapp in Gdansk, which is positioned as the world leader in the semi-custom luxury catamaran market, which won two of them: a great first!
The World Yacht Trophies 2020 awarded Sunreef Yachts the Trophy for the best shipyard of the year, and the Trophy for the best power catamaran for the 60 Sunreef Power!
These two Trophies reward a unique dynamic on the market, almost continuous since the creation of Sunreef Yachts in 2002!
With a growing number of orders, a brand new production unit nearing completion and superyacht projects underway, Sunreef Yachts has continued to hire new employees since the beginning of the year. The shipyard is now enjoying exceptional growth and international success, crowned by the World Yachts Trophies Best Shipyard Award.
The company, with a turnover of 120 million euros (Sunreef is the world's number two in the catamaran market in value, behind CNB and ahead of Fountaine-Pajot and Catana Group), is expected to grow from 1000 to 1200 employees in the coming weeks, to cope with a full order book!
The 60 Sunreef Power, awarded on Saturday evening, is part of the shipyard's new range of luxury multihulls alongside the 70 Sunreef Power, the 80 Sunreef Power and the 100 Sunreef Power. This catamaran offers a unique combination of performance and autonomy for long offshore cruises in ultimate comfort. Like the other models of the new Power range, it is equipped with a rear garage and a hydraulic platform. The model is also offered in Eco version with electric propulsion and a state-of-the-art solar energy system.
