Cannes Yachting Festival 2020 cancelled

It's a real thunderbolt that has just shaken the world of boating and yachting.

Indeed, we have just learned of the cancellation, at the last minute, of the 2020 edition of the Yachting Festival, Europe's leading floating boat show.

This cancellation, which is not yet official, was communicated by telephone this morning to the main exhibitors by the show's sales team.

The reason for this cancellation is that Reed would not have obtained the authorization of the Alpes-Maritimes Prefect to benefit from an exemption to organize an event with more than 5000 visitors.

Since a few days and the resumption of the contaminations at Covid 19, events with more than 5000 people are forbidden in France, until the end of October. Exemptions to this ban can be granted by the prefectures of the departments.

Not having obtained this exemption, Reed is therefore forced to cancel the 2020 edition of the Yachting Festival, in a context where boating has never attracted so many people, and where the practice of boating has proved to be, this summer, a unique way to spend good times with family or friends, safely.
